‘Invitation to Savasana’ – 25 & 26 July – 2015
I am going to teach you a short TYM sequence, which is used as an assessment tool, and a short Yoga massage to realign the body. You will learn a very enjoyable, unique and effective 20 minute Thai Yoga Massage sequence to release tension in the muscular skeletal system and joints,
It was developed by David Lutt, a French Osteopath and Thai Massage Instructor – who merged the general treatment in Osteopthy with Thai Yoga Massage postures.
He called it the ‘Invitation to Savasana’ because the treatment is done in Supine and we are literally inviting them into a perfect state of rest in the Savasana posture by removing tension from the main joints, spine and rib cage
We begin by assessing the alignment of the body in Savasana – Is it in alignment or not, is one foot up the other out, is one leg longer than the other, is one shoulder up and the other down, or is the rib cage sloping & higher on one side than the other. Why ?
Alongside this assessment I will provide you with an understanding of the usual suspects (muscles) involved with particular alignment issues and how to correct them.
After this initial assessment, we then do the Yoga massage ‘Invitation to Savasana’ to see if we can bring them back into alignment or not. If the body comes into Alignment after the treatment, then basically they were just holding onto superficial tension.
If the body is still out of alignment then we know we are dealing with a chronic condition of tension in the body, which may be injury, lifestyle, or emotional stress. So this yoga massage is a first time general treatment which accompanies the initial consultation and provides the therapist with the information neccessary to go forward with a tailored course of yoga massage treatments more successfully.
